Our members come from a wide range of backgrounds and work together toward a common goal: understanding how the brain works. We are broadly recruiting graduate students and research staff.

Graduate Students (Master's and Doctoral)¶

We welcome motivated students with an interest in neuroscience, whatever their undergraduate background. Research supervision is tailored to each individual, whether their strengths lie in experiments or in analysis. Students can be admitted through the Master's Program in Biomedical Sciences, the three-year Doctoral Program in Integrated Applied Life Sciences, or the four-year Doctoral Program in Medicine.

No prior background in neuroscience is required; you can start learning it after entering graduate school

Consultation on JSPS DC fellowship applications and acceptance is welcome at any time

Research Staff¶

We are recruiting postdoctoral researchers. Experience in the following areas is particularly welcome.

Electrophysiology (patch clamp, in vivo unit recording)
Imaging (calcium imaging, in vivo imaging)
Behavioral experiments in rats and mice
Data analysis and theoretical modeling
Image processing, machine learning and AI
Molecular biology and gene transfer
Histology and immunostaining

Enquiries regarding JSPS PD and RPD fellowships and JSPS International Postdoctoral Fellowships are also welcome.

Graduate Students / Postdocs¶

Motivated graduate students and postdoctoral researchers from diverse backgrounds are welcome. Electrophysiology, calcium imaging, behavior, data analysis, molecular biology and morphology are all useful experience, and applicants from other disciplines are equally welcome.
